The Cuban singer and guitarist Pedro Diaz Marin doesn’t limit himself to influences from his hometown Havana. He draws just as heavily on other countries to flavour his music: African songs and rhythms, Arabesque sounds and the traditions of Spain… His harmonies and clever words are sustained by a solid groove or by a startlingly intimate arrangement. Pedro Diaz Marin is accompanied here by the cellist Anja Naucler (Manou Gallo, Ghalia Benali on Triode) who was pregnant during the recording sessions. For this video, they performed ‘Marcando La Distancia’, a composition by Pedro.
